Jennifer Allen

Jennifer Allen is an educator and literacy specialist who has worked in the Waterville, Maine, school district, supporting teachers in grades 3–5 as a reading coach and leading professional development in multiple formats. She has extensive experience as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, and curriculum and professional development coordinator, and in 2023 was named assistant superintendent of schools for Waterville Public Schools.

Allen is the author of Becoming a Literacy Leader: Supporting Learning and Change (first published in 2006, with a second edition released in 2016 by Stenhouse Publishers) and A Sense of Belonging: Sustaining and Retaining New Teachers (Stenhouse, 2009). Her writing and video work focus on literacy leadership, teacher support, and professional learning for educators.
