Jennifer Broome is a freelance multimedia travel and environmental journalist, broadcast meteorologist, and content creator based in Denver, Colorado. She has more than two decades of on‑camera television experience and around 30 years as a television meteorologist, having served as chief meteorologist at WOAI in San Antonio from 2000 to 2010, then working for Fox 31 in Denver and later KPRC in Houston before transitioning fully to freelance work in 2017. As a travel expert and outdoors enthusiast, she has visited all 50 U.S. states, well over 100 National Park Service sites, and upwards of 40 countries.
Broome is co‑author of 100 Things to Do in San Antonio Before You Die, 3rd Edition, reflecting her decade living in San Antonio and her ongoing work highlighting the city’s culture and attractions. Her travel and environmental journalism appears across broadcast, digital, and print outlets, including AAA, Denver Post, The Weather Channel, and other media brands, and she creates content for her travel platform Swept Away with Jennifer Broome.
