Jennifer Richard Jacobson is a writer and literacy specialist who has authored No More “I’m Done!”: Fostering Independent Writers in the Primary Grades, a widely used guide to implementing Writer’s Workshop and fostering independent writing in early elementary classrooms. A former classroom teacher, curriculum coordinator, and language arts specialist in New England schools, she has worked as an educational consultant providing Writer’s Workshop training to school districts across the United States.
In addition to her professional books for educators, Jacobson has written numerous award‑winning children’s and young adult titles, including the Andy Shane early chapter book series, the middle‑grade novels Small as an Elephant and Paper Things, and the young adult novels Stained and The Complete History of Why I Hate Her. Her work for parents and teachers also includes titles such as How Is My First Grader Doing in School?: What to Expect and How to Help and related sequels.
