Jennifer S. Norford

Jennifer S. Norford, MA, is principal and chief program officer at Marzano Research in Denver, Colorado, where she leads a portfolio of research, technical assistance, and consulting projects in preK–16 education. She has more than twenty years of experience as a teacher, instructional materials developer, technical assistance provider, research and development specialist, and development director, and has worked in a variety of roles in the education sector since the early 1990s. Norford earned three degrees from Virginia Tech: a master of arts in English, a bachelor of arts in English, and a bachelor of science in civil engineering.

Norford is coauthor of A Handbook for Personalized Competency-Based Education: Ensure All Students Master Content by Designing and Implementing a PCBE System and The New Art and Science of Classroom Assessment (Authentic Assessment Methods and Tools for the Classroom), both written with Robert J. Marzano and colleagues. In her leadership roles, she has overseen research and evaluation initiatives at Marzano Research and serves as a principal of BNP Education Partners, bringing together development, managerial, and operations expertise with deep content knowledge in science, engineering, mathematics, and English language arts.
