Jenny Sue Kostecki-Shaw is a children’s book author and illustrator best known for Luna & Me: The True Story of a Girl Who Lived in a Tree to Save a Forest, My Travelin’ Eye, Same, Same but Different, and Papa Brings Me the World. She studied illustration at the Kansas City Art Institute and The Illustration Academy, and previously worked as an illustrator for Hallmark Cards. Her picture book Same, Same but Different received the Ezra Jack Keats New Illustrator Award and the *South Asia Book Award.*
Her work is often inspired by travel and cross-cultural experiences, including time spent in Nepal and India, and by environmental themes, as reflected in Luna & Me, which retells the tree-sit of forest activist Julia Butterfly Hill. Kostecki-Shaw lives with her family on a homestead in the mountains of northern New Mexico, where they keep dairy goats, chickens, ducks, and extensive gardens.
