Jenny Torres Sanchez

Jenny Torres Sanchez is an American author of young adult fiction and a contributor to short story and essay anthologies, including The Collectors: Stories. She is a full-time writer and former English teacher who was born in Brooklyn, New York and later settled in Orlando, Florida, where she lives with her husband and children.

She is the author of several acclaimed YA novels, including The Downside of Being Charlie, Death, Dickinson, and the Demented Life of Frenchie Garcia, Because of the Sun, The Fall of Innocence, and We Are Not From Here, as well as the picture book With Lots of Love. Her work often engages with difficult themes and centers Latinx characters, and We Are Not From Here received a Pura Belpré Honor and has been recognized as a novel that speaks directly to contemporary issues.
