Jessica Lane is an associate professor of counselor education who specializes in the intersection of K–12 mathematics instruction and social-emotional learning. She is a coauthor of The Well-Rounded Math Student: Leveraging Math Practices to Build Next Generation Skills, a resource for K–12 mathematics teachers that integrates the Standards for Mathematical Practice with the intentional development of students’ intrapersonal and interpersonal “next generation” skills.
In The Well-Rounded Math Student, Lane collaborates with Sherri L. Martinie, Janet Stramel, Jolene Goodheart Peterson, and Julie Thiele to provide practical, classroom-focused guidance that helps teachers support academic achievement alongside resilience, self-awareness, and other social-emotional competencies.
