Jessica Martell

Jessica Martell is a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher in East Harlem, New York City, with more than 20 years of experience in New York City public schools. She was recognized as a 2017 New York City Department of Education Big Apple Award recipient and was a doctoral student at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Martell is a co-author of No More Culturally Irrelevant Teaching (Not This, But That) with Mariana Souto-Manning, Carmen I. Lugo Llerena, Abigail Salas Maguire, Alicia Arce-Boardman, Nell K. Duke, and Ellin Oliver Keene.
