Jill Harrison Berg
Jill Harrison Berg, EdD, is a leadership coach, school improvement consultant, researcher, and writer specializing in leadership for instructional equity and teacher leadership. She is the author of Leading in Sync: Teacher Leaders and Principals Working Together for Student Learning (ASCD, 2018) and has written at least two other books, including Improving the Quality of Teaching through National Board Certification (Christopher Gordon Press, 2003). Through her firm, Jill Harrison Berg Consulting, LLC, she provides coaching, research, writing, policy analysis, and technical support to school districts, government agencies, teacher preparation programs, and other organizations serving public education.
Berg has authored numerous articles and a regular column, “Leading Together,” in ASCD’s Educational Leadership magazine (2018–2023), which focuses on the complementary roles of teacher leaders, school leaders, and district administrators in restructuring and re-culturing schools for equity and excellence. Her work synthesizes lessons from deep engagement with schools and school systems, aiming to help education leaders recognize and maximize the critical role of teacher leadership in ensuring instructional equity and improving student learning.
