John C. Maxwell

John C. Maxwell is an American author, speaker, and pastor widely known for his work on leadership development. Born in 1947 in Garden City, Michigan, he earned a bachelor’s degree from what is now Ohio Christian University, a Master of Divinity from Azusa Pacific University, and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary before serving as a pastor for more than 30 years. He later founded organizations including The John Maxwell Company and EQUIP, a nonprofit that has trained millions of leaders worldwide.

Maxwell is a multiple–New York Times bestselling author who has written more than 60 books on leadership and personal growth, with millions of copies sold and translations into dozens of languages. His notable titles include The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: Follow Them and People Will Follow You, Developing the Leader Within You 2.0, and Leadershift: The 11 Essential Changes Every Leader Must Embrace. His work has led business and media outlets such as Inc. magazine to recognize him as one of the world’s most influential leadership experts.
