John Dibiaggio

Maryanne Wolf is a scholar of reading and language, known for her research on the reading brain, dyslexia, and literacy. She serves as Director of the Center for Dyslexia, Diverse Learners, and Social Justice and Professor-in-Residence of Education at the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. Previously, she was the John DiBiaggio Professor of Citizenship and Public Service, Director of the Center for Reading and Language Research, and a professor in the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. Wolf received her doctorate from Harvard University in the Department of Human Development and Psychology, and holds earlier degrees in English literature from St. Mary’s College/University of Notre Dame and Northwestern University.

Wolf is the author of Proust and the Squid: The Story and Science of the Reading Brain, a widely acclaimed book on the development of reading and the neural basis of literacy.
