Joleigh Honey

Joleigh Honey is a mathematics educator, author, and consultant with more than 30 years of experience in K–12 mathematics education. She co-authored Transform Your Math Class Using Asset-Based Teaching for Grades 6–12 in the Corwin Mathematics Series with Michael D. Steele, a book that focuses on asset-based perspectives, inclusive pathways, and equitable math instruction for secondary students. Honey is also an author of Open Up High School Mathematics and has designed and led professional learning on equity, student engagement, special education, and meaningful access to grade-level mathematics content.

Honey holds a B.S. in Mathematics Education from the University of South Carolina and an M.A. in Curriculum/Technology and Administration from the University of Phoenix. Over her career, she has taught secondary mathematics in Utah’s Granite and Jordan School Districts, served as a math specialist and coach, and held district and state leadership roles including K–12 Mathematics Coordinator for Salt Lake City School District, STEM Coordinator/Secondary Mathematics Specialist, and later Mathematics Equity Specialist and PK–12 STEM Coordinator at the Utah State Board of Education.
