Jonathan Bergmann

Jonathan Bergmann is an American science educator, author, and speaker best known as one of the pioneers of the flipped classroom model, developed with fellow chemistry teacher Aaron Sams. He taught high school chemistry and physics, earned a master’s degree in Educational Technology from the University of Colorado Denver School of Education and Human Development in 1991, and has worked with schools, universities, organizations, and governments to implement flipped and active learning.

He is the co-author of Flip Your Classroom: Reach Every Student in Every Class Every Day and Solving the Homework Problem by Flipping the Learning, and he has also been associated with the Flipped Learning Network and Flipped Learning Global Initiative. According to ASCD, he continues to teach science and support staff development at Houston Christian High School in Houston, Texas.
