Joseph Assof
Joseph Michael Assof is a high school and community college mathematics teacher and math department chair at Health Sciences High and Middle College in San Diego, California. He teaches 11th and 12th grade mathematics, leads his department’s reform efforts to align with the Common Core State Standards with a focus on high-quality instruction, and has participated in regional leadership as a member of the San Diego County Math Leaders Task Force. He also works as an educational consultant, presenting internationally on topics including teacher clarity, mathematics teaching and learning, and visible learning, and his classroom has been featured in multiple Visible Learning for Mathematics, Grades K–12 videos.
Assof holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics and a doctorate in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Mathematics Teacher Leadership.
