Judith A. Stout

Judith A. Stout is a retired school district administrator and independent educational consultant with extensive experience in K–12 leadership and staff development. She earned a B.A. from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, and both her M.Ed. and Ed.D. from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Over a 28-year career in public education, she served in Oklahoma as an elementary classroom teacher, gifted/talented teacher, staff developer, elementary assistant principal, and elementary principal, followed by district-level leadership roles in Colorado. In Colorado, she was Director of Elementary Education for Boulder Valley School District in Boulder and Director of Leadership in Adams County School District 14 in Commerce City, where she was part of the team that developed the district’s classroom walkthrough model.

Stout is coauthor of Engaging Teachers in Classroom Walkthroughs (2013) and Classroom Walkthroughs to Improve Teaching and Learning (2010), both focused on using brief, structured classroom observations to improve teaching and learning and engage teachers in reflective practice. She has also written for professional journals including Educational Leadership, Florida Educational Leadership, and the Oklahoma Middle Level Education Journal, and has presented at numerous national professional conferences.
