Julia A. Salamone
Julia A. Salamone, M.Ed., is an instructional specialist at The Haverford School for Boys with more than twenty years of experience as an educator. She creates teacher training courses focused on dyslexia and the science of reading and supports high school students in navigating complex reading and writing demands across disciplines while partnering with teachers to improve literacy outcomes.
She is the co-author of The Reading Comprehension Blueprint Activity Book: A Practice & Planning Guide for Teachers, a practical, science-of-reading–based field guide that helps educators implement explicit instruction in vocabulary, syntax and sentence comprehension, text structures, background knowledge, inference, and expression of understanding. Salamone is also a contributing author to Reading Isn’t Optional: Fulfilling the Promise of Literacy for Secondary Students, where she co-wrote a chapter on content and disciplinary literacy.
