Julia Bott
Julia Bott is the executive director of inclusive education for Boston Public Schools, where she supports school leaders and educators in creating more equitable and inclusive learning opportunities for all students. She previously served in Boston Public Schools as an elementary and special education teacher, assistant principal, principal, and central office leadership coach, bringing extensive experience in school-based and system-level leadership focused on equity. Bott earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Boston College, where her research examined how leaders use instructional leadership to develop educators’ pedagogical knowledge and skill for social justice.
Bott is a coauthor of Educating for Justice: Schoolwide Strategies to Prepare Students to Recognize, Analyze, and Challenge Inequity (ASCD, 2025), written with Scott Seider and Aaliyah El-Amin, which offers research-based, schoolwide practices to help K–12 educators cultivate students’ critical consciousness and prepare them to recognize, analyze, and challenge injustice.
