Julie Erdelyi

Julie Erdelyi, M.A., is Director of Social Learning and Speech Therapy at the Stern Center for Language and Learning, where she provides consultation and instruction for clients and professional learning for educators. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Vermont and a Master’s degree in special education – developmental disabilities, and has extensive experience as a special educator and autism specialist, designing and implementing academic instruction, proactive behavior intervention plans, and social thinking instruction for elementary students with autism spectrum disorders.

Erdelyi is a primary author for the Stern Center’s Activities, Games, and Lessons for Social Learning: A Practical Guide, a collection of structured, research-informed activities that put social-learning theory into practice to help children build self-regulation, social communication, and relationship skills in school and other settings. She also leads and develops professional learning offerings such as trauma-informed social learning and neurodiversity-affirming practices in education, supporting educators in strengthening social-emotional and communication instruction for diverse learners.
