Justin Eisinger

Justin Eisinger is an award-winning author and editor best known as co-writer, with George Takei and Steven Scott, of the New York Times bestselling graphic memoir They Called Us Enemy, illustrated by Harmony Becker. The book recounts Takei’s childhood experience of Japanese American incarceration during World War II and has been widely recognized in libraries and schools.

Eisinger has worked in comics and graphic storytelling for more than a decade, including serving as editorial director of collections and graphic novels at IDW Publishing, where he adapted numerous television and film properties into graphic form and worked with a range of high-profile creators. Born in Akron, Ohio, he has been based in San Diego, California, and continues to develop nonfiction graphic projects, including the announced series We Built It!.
