Justin Reich

Justin Reich is a learning scientist and associate professor of digital media in the Comparative Media Studies/Writing department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he serves as director of the MIT Teaching Systems Lab. He is the author of Iterate: The Secret to Innovation in Schools and Failure to Disrupt: Why Technology Alone Can’t Transform Education, and he hosts the TeachLab podcast, focusing on the future of teacher learning and practice-based teacher education in technology-rich environments.

At MIT, Reich’s work centers on designing, implementing, and researching new models of teacher learning, including practice spaces and simulations that help educators rehearse and reflect on key instructional decisions. His book Iterate: The Secret to Innovation in Schools builds on more than two decades of collaboration with educators, education researchers, and school leaders, offering a strategic playbook for applying contemporary educational research to classrooms and online or hybrid courses through cycles of experimentation and continuous improvement.
