Karen Gazith

Dr. Karen Gazith is an educator and researcher specializing in educational and counselling psychology and inclusive education. She received her PhD in Education and Counselling Psychology from McGill University, where she has taught for over two decades as a Faculty Lecturer in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education. She serves as Graduate Program Director for the Certificate in Inclusive Education and acts as a liaison to the Office of First Nations and Inuit Education at McGill. In addition, she is Director of the Bronfman Jewish Education Centre (BJEC) of Federation CJA and Dean of Academics at Montreal’s Azrieli Schools, Talmud Torah and Herzliah.

Gazith is the author of Teaching With Purpose: How to Thoughtfully Implement Evidence-Based Practices in Your Classroom, a classroom management and instructional resource that outlines seven research-based principles for creating rich learning environments and supporting student success. She has also authored The Power of Effective Reading Instruction: How Neuroscience Informs Instruction Across All Grades and Disciplines and The Mindful and Purposeful Teacher, extending her focus on evidence-based, inclusive teaching practices and effective literacy instruction.
