Karen T. Flories
Karen T. Flories is an education leader and author with extensive experience as a classroom teacher and district administrator. She has taught high school English, special education, and alternative education, and has served as English Department Chair at Romeoville High School in Illinois. She later became Director of Literacy and Social Studies for Valley View School District in Bolingbrook, Illinois, followed by five years as Executive Director of Educational Services for the district. Flories holds credentials in general education, special education, and educational leadership, and earned her master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University. She is currently a full-time professional learning consultant for Corwin, supporting educators and leaders across grade levels and content areas.
Flories is a co-author of several influential professional learning titles, including PLC+: Better Decisions and Greater Impact by Design, The PLC+ Activator’s Guide, and The PLC+ Playbook, Grades K–12: A Hands-On Guide to Collectively Improving Student Learning. She also co-authored Becoming an Assessment-Capable Visible Learner, Grades 6–12, Level 1: Teacher’s Guide alongside Douglas Fisher, Nancy Frey, and John Hattie, contributing lessons and tools to help students become assessment-capable visible learners.
