Kate Ortolano

Kate Ortolano is a retired art teacher and experienced art educator. She helped found ArtEscape, a nonprofit art-education organization in Sonoma County, California, and served as its board president, overseeing programs for children and training young people to teach art.

Ortolano is a coauthor of Positive Discipline: A Teacher’s A–Z Guide, published by Harmony in 2001. The book, written with Jane Nelsen, Ed.D., Linda Escobar, Roslyn Ann Duffy, and Debbie Owen-Sohocki, offers classroom-management strategies and practical solutions for teachers.
