Katherine Burkett

Katherine Burkett is a science writer and educator who previously served as an editor for Scholastic’s SuperScience magazine. She has written 14 books for children, including nine volumes in Scholastic’s Mad Science fiction series, and has contributed extensively to children’s magazines on a wide range of science topics.

Burkett is the author of SuperScience STEM Instant Activities: Grades 1–3: 30 Hands-On Investigations With Anchor Texts and Videos and SuperScience STEM Instant Activities: Grades 4–6: 30 Hands-On Investigations With Anchor Texts and Videos, comprehensive classroom resources that align with the Next Generation Science Standards and integrate nonfiction science articles, hands-on investigations, and multimedia support. She has also worked on science-related projects for organizations including the National Science Foundation, the American Museum of Natural History, and the National Arbor Day Foundation.
