Kathleen Lynne Lane

Kathleen Lynne Lane, PhD, BCBA-D, is a Roy A. Roberts Distinguished Professor in the Department of Special Education at the University of Kansas and serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Research at the university. A former classroom teacher of general and special education students, she conducts research on school-based academic and behavioral interventions for students at risk for emotional and behavioral disorders, with a particular focus on Comprehensive, Integrated, Three-tiered (Ci3T) models of prevention and systematic screening to support students’ learning, behavior, and social-emotional well-being.

Lane has co-authored or edited numerous books, including Managing Challenging Behaviors in Schools: Research-Based Strategies that Work (Guilford Press), and has published extensively in refereed journals and edited volumes on behavior support and prevention models in K–12 settings. She is co-editor of the journal Remedial and Special Education and has held editorial roles with journals such as Journal of Positive Behavior Interventions and Education and Treatment of Children, reflecting her leadership in the fields of special education and positive behavior support.
