Kathy Tuchman Glass

Kathy Tuchman Glass, MEd, is a consultant, trainer, and former classroom teacher with more than twenty-five years of experience in education. She provides professional development for K–12 educators nationwide in areas of curriculum and instruction, including differentiated instruction, English language arts standards, literacy, instructional strategies, assessments, and backward planning for unit and lesson design. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington and a master’s degree in education from San Francisco State University.

Glass is the author of numerous books on curriculum design and literacy, including Reading and Writing Instruction for Fourth- and Fifth-Grade Classrooms in a PLC at Work®, A Leader’s Guide to Reading and Writing in a PLC at Work®, Elementary, The New Art and Science of Teaching Writing (with Robert J. Marzano), the (Re)designing Writing Units series, and earlier works such as Mapping Comprehensive Units to the ELA Common Core Standards (K–5 and 6–12), Lesson Design for Differentiated Instruction, Grades 4–9, Curriculum Mapping, and Curriculum Design for Writing Instruction. She is a member of the International Literacy Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and Learning Forward, and is based in
