Katie Muhtaris
Katie Muhtaris is an educator and author who has taught in the Chicago Public Schools for at least eight years, focusing on literacy, inquiry-based learning, and technology integration. She is National Board Certified as a Middle Childhood Generalist and holds a Master’s degree in Teacher Leadership. In addition to her classroom work, Muhtaris leads professional development for educators in the United States and internationally on inquiry-based learning, technology integration, and reading comprehension strategies.
Muhtaris is the coauthor of Amplify: Digital Teaching and Learning in the K–6 Classroom and Read the World: Rethinking Literacy for Empathy and Action in a Digital Age, both of which center on digital literacy, student agency, and using technology to build collaborative learning communities. She is also listed as a coauthor of Connecting Comprehension and Technology, further extending her work at the intersection of literacy instruction and digital tools.
