Katie Novak

Katie Novak, Ed.D., is an internationally renowned education consultant, author, and founder and CEO of Novak Educational Consulting, specializing in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), inclusive practices, and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). She has more than two decades of experience as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, and assistant superintendent of schools in Massachusetts and holds a doctorate in curriculum and teaching. Novak serves as a graduate instructor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education and presents nationally and internationally on implementing UDL, MTSS, and universally designed leadership.

Novak is the author or co-author of numerous books on inclusive and learner-centered education, including Innovate Inside the Box: Empowering Learners Through UDL and the Innovator’s Mindset, UDL and Blended Learning: Thriving in Flexible Learning Landscapes, In Support of Students: A Leader’s Guide to Equitable MTSS, and Equity by Design: Delivering on the Power and Promise of UDL, co-written with Mirko Chardin. Her broader body of work also includes the widely used UDL Now! and other titles on UDL, blended learning, and leadership, and her books collectively have sold hundreds of thousands of copies worldwide.
