Katie White
Katie White is a Canadian educator, author, and consultant with more than twenty years of experience in K–12 education. She has served as a classroom teacher, learning coach, and district and in-school administrator, and has worked as coordinator of learning for the North East School Division in Saskatchewan, Canada. White holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education in curriculum studies from the University of Saskatchewan.
White is known for her work on assessment and student learning, spending her time supporting school systems and educators in developing assessment and grading practices that honor learning relationships and foster student investment. She is the author of Softening the Edges: Assessment Practices That Honor K–12 Teachers and Learners, Unlocked: Assessment as the Key to Everyday Creativity in the Classroom, and Student Self-Assessment: Data Notebooks, Portfolios, and Other Tools to Advance Learning, and is a coauthor of Concise Answers to Frequently Asked Questions About Assessment and Grading.
