Katie Yezzi
Katie Yezzi is the co-author of Practice Perfect: 42 Rules for Getting Better at Getting Better, written with Doug Lemov and Erica Woolway. She is an educator and instructional leader whose work focuses on improving teaching and learning through deliberate practice, and she has contributed articles on practice and skill development to outlets including the New York Times and Fast Company.
Yezzi is the founding principal of True North Troy Preparatory Charter Elementary School (Troy Prep Elementary), part of the Uncommon Schools charter network in upstate New York. She previously taught for eight years in public middle and high schools in Northern and Southern California and held roles such as English department head, school-wide reform coordinator, assistant principal of curriculum, and principal in district and charter high schools in San Francisco. She is a graduate of the New Leaders program for urban school principals and holds a Bachelor of Arts in American Civilization and a Master of Arts in Teaching English from Brown University.
