Katy Wu

Katy Wu is a children’s book illustrator and visual development artist with a BFA in Illustration and Entertainment Arts from Pasadena Art Center College of Design. She has worked in animation and digital art for major studios and companies, including Laika, Pixar, Blue Sky, CinderBiter, and Google, where she has created illustrations, concept art, and Google Doodles. Her animation work has included projects such as the feature film Coraline and shorts like La Luna and Cars Toons.

In publishing, Wu is the illustrator of Grace Hopper: Queen of Computer Code by Laurie Wallmark, her first picture book, as well as Dumpling Dreams by Carrie Clickard, A True Wonder: The Comic Book Hero Who Changed Everything by Kirsten W. Larson, Sylvia’s Bookshop by Robert Burleigh, and The Little Red Stroller by Joshua Furst, among other titles. She has also created children’s book art noted for its vivid, graphic style and strong sense of character and setting. Wu has lived and worked as a freelance illustrator in New York City and later as an art director and visual development artist in Portland, Oregon.
