Kaye L. Otten

Kaye L. Otten is a board certified behavior analyst with a doctorate in special education from the University of Kansas, where she focused on emotional, behavioral, and autism spectrum disorders. She has more than 30 years of experience in public and private schools as a general and special educator and behavioral consultant, working with students across ages, ability levels, and disability categories. Otten has served as a behavioral and autism specialist for schools in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and provides collaborative coaching to school districts in developing evidence-based multi-tiered systems of behavioral support.

Otten is the editor of The Educator’s Guide to Autism Spectrum Disorder: Interventions and Treatments and has coauthored several works on autism and behavior support, including Successful Inclusion Practices for Children with Autism: Creating a Complete, Effective, ASD Inclusion Program, Discrete Trial Training, 2nd Edition, and the first edition of Autism Spectrum Disorders: Interventions and Treatments for Children and Youth. She is also coauthor of How to Reach and Teach Children with Challenging Behavior (K–8): Practical, Ready-to-Use Interventions That Work, a practical resource for educators working with students with significant behavioral needs.
