Ken Blanchard

Ken Blanchard is an American author, business consultant, and motivational speaker best known for co‑authoring the landmark management book The One Minute Manager, which has sold well over 13–15 million copies worldwide and been translated into numerous languages. Born in 1939 in Orange, New Jersey, he earned a BA in government and philosophy from Cornell University, an MA in sociology and counseling from Colgate University, and a PhD in educational administration and leadership from Cornell. Blanchard is the co‑creator, with Paul Hersey, of the Situational Leadership model introduced in their textbook Management of Organizational Behavior, and he has written or co‑written more than 65–70 books on leadership and management.

In 1979, Blanchard and his wife Margie co‑founded The Ken Blanchard Companies, an international management training and consulting firm, where he serves as chief spiritual officer. His work on leadership development and organizational behavior has made him one of the most influential leadership experts in the world, and he has been recognized as a top‑25 bestselling author in Amazon’s Hall of Fame.
