Kevin Cherbow

Kevin Cherbow is a coauthor of The Instructional Leader’s Guide to Implementing K–8 Science Practices, published by ASCD in 2022, which supports K–8 instructional leaders in observing and improving science teaching aligned with contemporary science practices. His work focuses on how science instruction and leadership can better support coherent, equitable science learning for all students.

Cherbow received a PhD in curriculum and instruction from Boston College’s Lynch School of Education, where his research examined how science teachers use curricular materials to design instruction that advances students’ questions and problems about natural phenomena. Prior to his doctoral studies, he taught 9th-grade biology in New York City and instructed high school students engaged in biomedical research using animal models. He has contributed to peer‑reviewed scholarship on science education, including coauthored articles analyzing K–8 science instruction for the science practices and professional development for principals’ visions of science instruction.
