Kikanza Nuri-Robins

Kikanza Nuri-Robins is an organizational development consultant who has worked since 1978 in settings including education, health care, criminal justice, and religion, with a focus on leadership development, change management, and cultural proficiency. She is coauthor of Cultural Proficiency: A Manual for School Leaders (multiple editions) with Randall B. Lindsey and Raymond D. Terrell, as well as related works such as Culturally Proficient Instruction: A Guide for People Who Teach and Cultural Proficiency: Tools for Secondary School Administrators. Her clients have included school districts, university faculty, government offices, and nonprofit organizations.

Nuri-Robins studied at Occidental College, the University of Southern California, and the San Francisco Theological Seminary, completing a BA in Speech (Sociolinguistics), an EdD in the anthropology of education, and an MDiv with a focus on spirituality. She is credited as the author of many articles and five books, including works on cultural proficiency and culturally proficient responses to LGBT communities, and she resides in the Los Angeles area, where she also works as a textile artist.
