Kirby Schoephoerster
Kirby Schoephoerster, EdD, is senior program director at the National Math Foundation, where he leads organizational strategy development, coordinates educational research projects with community partners, and designs professional learning experiences for mathematics educators and school leaders across the United States. He is an advocate for redesigning educational spaces to foster positive learning identities for all students and has presented extensively on movement-based instruction, the science of learning and the brain, professional learning implementation, and the development of positive attitudes toward mathematics.
Schoephoerster earned his doctorate in education from Vanderbilt University and is the coauthor of Activate Math!: Using Movement to Spark Engagement and Ignite Learning, which focuses on integrating purposeful movement into math instruction to increase student engagement and learning.
