Kristina Doubet

Kristina J. Doubet is a professor in the Department of Middle, Secondary, and Mathematics Education in the College of Education at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she has received the Distinguished Teacher Award, the Madison Scholar Award, and endowed professorships recognizing excellence in education. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia, with a concentration in differentiation, and a B.A. in English and Communications from Eastern Illinois University. Her research and consulting focus on differentiated instruction, flexible grouping, standards-based grading, interdisciplinary project-based learning, and innovative professional learning models at the middle and high school levels.

Doubet is the author of The Flexibly Grouped Classroom: How to Organize Learning for Equity and Growth and coauthor of several other professional books, including Differentiation in Middle and High School: Strategies to Engage All Learners, Differentiation in the Elementary Grades, Designing Authentic Performance Tasks and Projects, and The Differentiated Flipped Classroom, as well as guides on effective blended learning. She has also coauthored Smart in the Middle Grades: Classrooms That Work for Bright Middle Schoolers and contributes frequently to journals and professional resources on curriculum, assessment, and differentiation.
