Lara Donnelly, EdD, is a veteran teacher and school counselor in Jefferson County Public Schools in Kentucky, as well as an education consultant, speaker, and author focusing on teacher burnout, family engagement, and support for multilingual learners experiencing trauma and mental health challenges. She coauthored What Can I Take Off Your Plate?: A Structural—and Sustainable—Approach to Countering Teacher Burnout, which provides systemic, school-level strategies for reducing teacher frustration and sustaining staff well-being.
Donnelly has been recognized as an Outstanding Elementary School Counselor of the Year in Jefferson County Public Schools (2018) and has shared her expertise through podcasts, news features, televised interviews, and presentations at national conferences, including ASCD, ESEA, and the Whole School REACH conference. She is based in Louisville, Kentucky.
