Latish C. Reed
Latish C. Reed is an educator and organizational equity leader whose career spans more than two decades in roles including college admissions counselor, teacher, teacher-leader, school administrator, assistant professor of educational leadership, and district-level equity administrator. She has served as an inaugural equity administrator in a large school district, leading equity policy development and professional learning, and has also worked as an equity specialist for Milwaukee Public Schools. Reed holds a PhD in educational leadership and policy analysis from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and her scholarly work has focused on urban school leadership, Black principals, and social justice–oriented leadership.
Reed is the author of The Complexities of Equity: Navigating Shades of Gray in Schools and Organizations, published by Corwin in 2025, in which she introduces the Equity Empowerment Continuum (EEC) as a framework for understanding and acting on equity in schools and other organizations. In addition to this book, she has coauthored and edited scholarly work on urban school leadership and principal succession planning, and she consults with education, corporate, healthcare, and government organizations on equity-focused strategy and practice.
