Laura Baecher

Laura Baecher, EdD, is an educator and author whose work focuses on teacher learning, teacher preparation, and the use of video in professional development. She earned her doctorate in TESOL from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has taught and led programs at Hunter College, City University of New York, where she served for more than 20 years as a professor and program coordinator of TESOL. She is currently Associate Provost for Faculty Development at Kean University.

Baecher is the author of Video in Teacher Learning: Through Their Own Eyes (2019) and has published extensively on teacher education, observation, coaching, and video-based reflection. Public sources also describe her as the author of multiple books and more than 65 peer-reviewed publications, with research and professional interests in faculty learning, English language teacher education, and educational technology.
