Lauren Murphy Payne, M.S.W., LCSW, is a psychotherapist in private practice with extensive experience working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, as well as clients dealing with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. She is also noted as a family-practice psychotherapist and cofounder of The Turning Point, a speaking and consulting service based in Racine, Wisconsin.
As an author of children’s self‑help and social–emotional learning books, Payne has written We Can Get Along: A Child’s Book of Choices and its related A Leader’s Guide to We Can Get Along, which teach basic conflict‑resolution and peacemaking skills to young children. She is also the author of Just Because I Am: A Child’s Book of Affirmation, including bilingual and ebook editions, which support children in building self‑esteem and recognizing their own worth.
