Leanna S. Harris
Leanna S. Harris is an educator, instructional coach, and senior consultant with Diane Sweeney Consulting based in Denver, Colorado. She has worked as a teacher, coach, and consultant across grades K–12, including several years as an elementary classroom teacher in both independent and public schools in the Denver area, and later as a consultant and staff developer with the Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC) and as an instructional coach. In her current role, she works with schools and districts across the United States to implement student-centered coaching with a focus on improving instruction and student achievement.
Harris is the coauthor of several influential books on instructional coaching, including Student-Centered Coaching: The Moves (Corwin, 2016/2017), The Essential Guide for Student-Centered Coaching: What Every K–12 Coach and School Leader Needs to Know (Corwin, 2020), and Student-Centered Coaching From a Distance: Coaching Moves for Virtual, Hybrid, and In-Person Classrooms (Corwin, 2021). Her work emphasizes that professional learning for teachers is most effective when it is grounded in clear outcomes for student learning, “for every child, every day.”
