Lester Kaufman

Lester Kaufman is the author of The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation: An Easy-to-Use Guide with Clear Rules, Real-World Examples, and Reproducible Quizzes and the publisher of the grammar and usage website GrammarBook.com. A lifelong public servant, he served in the Peace Corps and later completed his federal career with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency before retiring.

Kaufman married Jane Straus, creator of The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation and founder of GrammarBook.com, in 1987. After his retirement, he began working with Straus on The Blue Book and the GrammarBook.com website and, following her death in 2011, he assumed authorship of new editions of The Blue Book and continued publishing GrammarBook.com’s weekly grammar newsletter.
