Lester L. Laminack
Lester L. Laminack is a Professor Emeritus of Birth–Kindergarten, Elementary, and Middle Grades Education at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina, where he received both the Botner Superior Teaching Award and the Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award for excellence in teaching. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University and an Ed.D. in Elementary Education and Reading from Auburn University. Laminack is now a full-time writer and literacy consultant, working with schools throughout the United States and abroad, and is an active member of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).
An author or co-author of more than 25 books for children and teachers, Laminack has written widely used professional resources including Writers ARE Readers: Flipping Reading Instruction into Writing Opportunities, The Ultimate Read-Aloud Resource, 2nd Edition, and Reading Aloud Across the Curriculum: How to Build Bridges in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
