Lina Trigos-Carrillo
Lina Trigos-Carrillo is an associate professor in the Department of Spanish at Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia, and the National Coordinator of Redlees (the Reading and Writing Network in Higher Education in Colombia). She earned a PhD in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum with an emphasis in Reading and Literacy from the University of Missouri, where she also completed a Graduate Certificate in Qualitative Research Methods and two postdoctoral fellowships focused on multilingual teacher education and campus writing programs.
Her scholarship centers on teacher education, community-based education, critical literacy, peace education, multilingualism, and interculturality. She is the author of Teaching Math to Multilingual Students, Grades K-8: Positioning English Learners for Success (Corwin) and has also published books, chapters, and peer-reviewed articles on literacy, multilingual learners, and critical literacies.
