Linda Gutlohn

Linda Gutlohn is a developer, editor, and writer of literacy products and grant proposals and a co-author of several widely used reading and vocabulary instruction resources. She is co-author and editorial director of the Teaching Reading Sourcebook, a comprehensive reference on evidence-based K–12 reading instruction that has been recognized by the National Council on Teacher Quality as one of a small number of textbooks that rigorously cover the scientific basis and instructional elements of effective reading instruction.

Gutlohn is also co-author of the Vocabulary Handbook (Core Literacy Library) and Word ID: Assessment Across the Content Areas, and has worked for more than 25 years as a reading product developer, author, teacher, and language arts consultant. In addition, she is the owner of phonicFinder, a software tool for analyzing the decodability of emergent reader texts.
