Lindsay A. Gold

Lindsay A. Gold, Ph.D., is an associate professor of STEM Mathematics in the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Dayton, where her work focuses on mathematics education and financial literacy in K–12 settings. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in mathematics education from Ohio University in 2016, completing a dissertation titled Teachers’ Perceptions Regarding Financial Literacy in Kindergarten Through Grade 2. Earlier in her career, she taught first, fourth, and fifth grades in elementary schools and also taught in the Developmental Mathematics department at Sinclair Community College.

Gold’s scholarship centers on financial literacy, pre-service teacher education, STEAM, teaching with technology, and professional development for educators. She is the author of The Gold Standard for Financial Literacy: A Teacher’s Classroom Tool Kit (Grades K–8) and coauthor of On the Money: Math Activities to Build Financial Literacy Grades K–5, a 2018 resource integrating mathematics and personal finance concepts for elementary classrooms. She also writes for practitioner audiences, including a 2022 Texas Instruments T³ article on expanding students’ financial literacy, and is active in national conversations on integrating financial education into existing curricula.
