Lindsey Cormack

Lindsey Cormack is an associate professor of political science and director of the Diplomacy Lab at Stevens Institute of Technology, where she studies congressional communication and civic engagement. She created the DC Inbox project to analyze how members of Congress communicate with constituents and her research has appeared in academic journals as well as outlets such as The New York Times and The Washington Post. Cormack holds a PhD in political science from New York University and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas.

Cormack is the author of How to Raise a Citizen (And Why It’s Up to You to Do It), a 2024 book offering practical guidance to help families teach children about politics, government, and democratic participation. She also wrote Congress and U.S. Veterans: From the GI Bill to the VA Crisis, examining how Congress has served American veterans over time. In addition to her academic work, Cormack is active in local governance on New York’s Upper East Side, serving on Community Board 8, including as secretary and co-chair of the Street Life Committee.
