Lisa A. Brooks

Lisa A. Brooks, EdD, is a senior lecturer in the School of Teacher Education at the University of Central Florida. She has more than 27 years of experience in education, with work in public and private K–8 settings, and her research focuses on helping teachers facilitate student discourse to deepen conceptual understanding of mathematics.

She is a co-author of Making Sense of Mathematics for Teaching Grades K–2 and Making Sense of Mathematics for Teaching the Small Group. Sources also describe her as a published author of articles in state, national, and international journals and as a provider of professional development for educators and school leaders.
