Lloyd M. Goldsmith
Lloyd M. Goldsmith is an education leadership scholar and former K–12 administrator, best known as coauthor of The Principal’s Guide to School Budgeting with Richard D. Sorenson. He earned his EdD in educational leadership from Baylor University and has been closely associated with Abilene Christian University, where he served as director of the Principal Preparation Program, chairperson of the Graduate Studies in Education Department, and later as professor (and professor emeritus) of educational leadership, teaching courses in school budgeting, instructional leadership, and leadership theory.
Before his university career, Goldsmith worked in public schools for 29 years, including roles as an elementary science teacher, middle school (junior high) assistant principal, and elementary school principal. In addition to The Principal’s Guide to School Budgeting, he has coauthored related practitioner-focused works on curriculum leadership and school finance aimed at helping principals and school leaders strengthen their instructional and fiscal decision-making.
